Some thoughts on Tai-Chi-Chuan
By Master Karen Law
Tai Chi Chuan has the meaning of Yin-Yang boxing or Grand Ultimate Fist
The ultimate purpose for practicing tai-chi is to connect Mind, Body and Spirit with all that is Heaven and Earth.
Yang style evolved from Chen style approximately 200 years ago.
Tai-Chi is like a moving form of yoga and meditation combined. (When one part moves, all parts are moving when one part is still all is still)
Tai-Chi is a martial art and the movements are derived from the natural movements of animals combined with the intrinsic flows of energies.
Movements in the Yang style taught here are performed slowly, softly and gracefully combined with a gentle breathing technique.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine Philosophy, Qi (Chi) or energy animates throughout the body.
Practicing Tai-Chi (Yin Yang) can allow you to control the circulation of blood and chi within the body to enhance health and vitality.
